OD Cricket Club Against Folkestone CC 16th June 2024
This match was always going to be a bit special, particularly as it was the first time in over 80 years the Old Dovorian Cricket Club were playing a match as a stand-alone group, after been part of the Old Dovorian Club for so long.
The quotation by Janet Fitch in White Oleander springs to mine “The phoenix must burn to emerge”, how true that is with regards to the Old Dovorian Cricket Club as it starts on its new journey, just like a phoenix that has just been re born.
OD Cricket Club Against Folkestone CC 18th August 2024
The much-awaited rematch between the Old Dovorian Cricket Club and Folkestone Cricket Club did not disappoint, which resulted in over 500 runs being scored as well as over 16 wickets taken during the day.
The Old Dovorian Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat on a dry hard fast track, however the start of the innings did not go to plan with the OD Cricket Club being 34 for 2 by the end of the 6th over, both openers back in the pavilion.
